Hi there. I'm at a loss and I would love some suggestions.

We live in a rural area, on a 5 acre orchard. Our little house (1200 sq ft main, 400 sq ft up) is decorated with a farmhouse feel and is very cozy. Our living room has 3 very large windows (each 70w x 59h) that look out over a lovely hayfield and the local hills. The windows are on a corner... sort of like an "L", with two windows on one wall and the 3rd on the 2nd wall. Under the windows are window seats that run the length of all 3 of the windows. It's a wonderful place to sit and watch the deer and pheasants run across the field with a morning coffee.

Unfortunately, as in other rural areas, our rural area is growing. The hayfield beside us has now been sold and the new owners are building a house on it... directly in front of our large living room windows. Now when we sit in the window seats, or even just on the couches, we feel a bit on display, especially at night when the house is lit and it's dark outside.

My quandary is what to put up to cover these windows, so we can still enjoy the beautiful view of the local hills and the natural light, but also so we don’t have that fishbowl feeling at night. We have some budget to do this, but not a limitless one.

Thank you for any and all suggestions!

I know there are special curtains (look like canvas but are not) that prevent looking in at lighted spaces (like a living room in the evening) and allow for looking out regularly (well, almost). But I do not know the name of such curtains. They look like pull up and down screens. I will research some and hopefully come up with the name of those.
