I'm helping a friend (who has a website with various styles of trim, such as around ceilings, floors, doors, etc., for use in designing interiors), and I would really appreciate any help you can give me on this question. I'm hoping that I'm posting this to the appropriate lists. What I would like to know is on a website where one can choose and download graphic files of various trim products, what format would be preferred

If your target audience is design professions, carpenters and cabinet makers, dwg (autocad) is best. For others, like homeowners, any other fast loading format will do.

While for selection detailed profiles are useful, they're overkill for most drawings ... you can always give a general profile and a part number.

Provide a single catalog in PDF format, just like you would print it. It may be a larger download, but it's all in one place, easy to find, and easy to print. I hate searching through ever changing websites for technical information.

A digital copy of a printed catlog will save everyone, including your friend, TAM.

If you are talking about profiles of the trim, dxf format would be my choice. Most CAD packages can import that file format.
