I think of myself as having average to high awareness of the environment, I try to recycle as much as I can, try to use Eco-friendly products and though I am not going to extremes as installing a solar panel on the roof for self produced electricity - way too expensive and a little ugly if you ask me, I do try.
Recently I’ve been exposed to the whole issue of Eco-friendly decor staring with simple things adding more plants to clear the air, using green colors for the walls and the doors.
Trying to avoid plastic and vinyl for example comes naturally as my personal tendency is for living materials.
Other things as buying furnitures from recycled wood or from shops that have a stamp saying that the wood came from responsibly managed forest are more problematic for me. There are two problems here, one if that the furniture are more expensive and the second is the look. Living in a small town I don’t really have access to many shops, there is usually one place to buy furnitures so It is not like I can enter the other shop and I’m not taking the risk of buying online furnitures I haven’t checked for myself.
If you do have that option and you are thinking of renewing your home, I think it is a good Idea to check it out.
