Hi all

I am refitting my bathroom which is very small 1.8m * 2.4m (6ft*8ft) and has no natural light source.
I have chosen a plain white suite with bath and contemery fittings.
I like the idea of a dark (anthricite) floor tile, dark tiles halfway up the wall and a deep red matt paint finish above the tiles.
My question is do you think that that colour scheme would suit such a small room? and would it make it fell to cramped? some opinions i have heard is that you should stick to light colours in small spaces.
I would normally just experiment with paint finishes and if i dont like it repaint it, but i cant really do that with the tiling.

Any opinions would be welcome

Thanks
Ren

Hi Ren, welcome to the forum I tend to agree with the opinions you have heard about this. Although your design sounds very nice and sophisticated I wouldn't apply it to a very small room. Light colors tend to make the place look bigger and dark colors have exactly the opposite effect ...

I agree. The bathroom could feel quite claustrophobic in dark..., add the red with accessories instead, such as a piece of wall art, towels..., a few tiles perhaps.

bathrooms are really tricky to design. both small and large. although dark colors are discouraged in a small space, why not try using it as an accent instead? it will add a splash of color in your bathroom.
