I really like the plastic red shine of those nice contemporary Italian kitchen cabinets and would like to try something similar on the tired old off-white MDF ones we inherited in our new condo.

Is this doable, and where do I start?

Any help would be appreciated!

I haven't seen the cabinets you are talking about, but I have heard of people getting their cabinet doors painted with car paint at auto detailers to get a great finish and shine.

Good Morning All of You!

........ ...Certainly, it does sounds a plausible suggestion, would you instead of that, to try the painting which is ' SADOLIN ' the fabrication Firm and the name is : 'Sadotex Aqua ', it is a magical painting which it has a look of oil painting, but it is a painting like the way it is named, that you do mix with a water, and it is a Swedish preparation which you can find easier in Finland and its Importer is 'Akzo Nobel Deco Oy, PL 104, 01301 Vantaa, Finland!!!!!!!!!!!!............ ...

It is a magical and a brillant shining, and it does dry very fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............. ...

La'a Shoukra Ala Wa'agib, Penelope!!!!!!......... ........ However, about the painting I mentioned, it cannot be affected by nothing at all, after it has dry, as you can even clean it by washing it, from a time to an other, simply with a water and any product you do use, like you do wash anything else, and it is this which it does make it more magical and durable!!!!!!!!!!!!...........
