Parental influence good and bad on your decorating styles

I was wondering how you were influenced by your folks with your decorating styles...?
My folks have so much stuff on the walls, and that used to freak me out, so I have totally bare walls
How about you?

somewhat. i have my own ideas for decorating, but i can see a little of my parent's style here and there throughout the house.

Intereting question I always liked the decorating style of my parents but didn't find it fit for a 'younger generation'. Now that I am getting older myself I still don't see myself adopting their decorating style.

Bare walls btw are great. Did you ever think about having a painter paint a scene on them, like a sunset or any other 'picture' that carries your fancy?

lol that is true! but folks have something good at times in mind and also they always support financially! so i dont mind saving a couple of bucks to myself.
