Leonard Cohen’s Art Showing In Vancouver In December

Life is full of pleasant surprise, and I was thus surprised when I learned that on of my favorite singers of all times, Leonard Cohen, who completely gets under my skin when I listen to his music is also a painter.

He will be showing from December the 3rd through December 31 at Linda Lando Fine Art

A blurb from the gallery

“Leonard Cohen Artworks”, a visual record of 40 years, is an exhibition of works from Mr. Cohen’s archive of drawings and journals. Mr. Cohen, poet, songwriter and novelist, has maintained a visual art practice since his early days in Montreal and Hydra. Until now, his drawings have been private visual records of things, places, and people captured in his sure and modest hand. Later, these drawings found their way onto CD covers and most recently into the pages of “Book of Longing”. This is the first time the drawings have been exhibited as another manifestation of Leonard Cohen’s talent.

watching you think

the gallery site has all of the work up, not just a sample, and that some what consoles me for not being anywhere near close enough to go and see the show.

The work is very diverse and interesting… a lot if it is drawn on lined paper, like one would have in a note pad…

Yum.

Don’t you just love his artwork! I was fortunate to see the pieces for the show being framed here in Vancouver.
