i am trying to redocorate my living room but i have oak floors and 1/2 wall from floor is oak too..should i go with all the oak or paint it?

You could decorate the half wall that's oak with bars of other (lighter) wood for example. At least, that's the first thing that came into my head when thinking how I would change the look of my living room if I were in your position
