Garage usage statistics?

Does anyone know where I could find some survey statistics regarding what people actually use the garage for? I'm doing a class project on ''the importance of the modern garage - parking or storage'' IE: How many actually park their cars in the garage?, if so, how many cars? or do they mostly use for storage?, etc., etc.. I'd like some verifiable stats to either back up or shoot down my assumption that the garage has become the new American storage unit! I've looked everywhere and have come up empty. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Good luck in your search, sounds like something that you would need to do your own specific survey on.

I park in mine, but occasionally clip the edge of a cardboard box while pulling in.
