Im in need of some frugal wall art for my apt.
Its not so much that the prints cost so much.... I mean you can get 24x36 prints for abt $15...... but the FRAMING is what is a killer! Plus the framing can make things a bit heavy.
Cam someone recommend a very cheap way to mount and hang wall prints?
I was thinking one could buy 24x36 foam board..... spray some adhesive on it..... and place the print carefully on the glued surface. This would make a nice rigid mount as well as be light.
However...... Ive looked high and low for foam board in 24x36 size and cant find it anywhere!! I can find 20x30...... but then I cant find any prints in 20x30 size.
Advice or thoughts?

Okay, now granted that this has that trendy 'dorm' look, but something a roommate did once:
- Get some of the 1/2' thick blue foam insulation which comes in 4'x8' sheets from Home Despot - Cut out the size you need for the poster in question with a razor knife. - Use 3M 77 spray adhesive to stick the poster to the foam - Use aluminum tape to seal the edges of the board and slightly overlap the edge of the poster
For a distance it looked like a high-tech metal frame around the poster. Hanging was simple as he just slapped it against a regular picture hanger and let that penetrate the foam.

If you check at a local art supply store, they will probably have foam core in the large size... Where I live I can get it in 4'x8' sheets (try getting that baby home on the bus)
You could also try your hand at making your own frame...
Go to Home Depot and buy some skinny moulding (try rounds for a neat look-1/4' or less), stain it, paint it, etc... Cut it with a mitre box, nail/hot glue the corners and 'frame' your foam core mounted art.
