I'm hoping someone here can help me with this one:

I have a bedroom which doesn't get much light, and the floors are stained pretty dark (like mahogony).

Right now the walls and trim (there is a lot of trim) are just white.

I'd like to repaint but I don't know what works best with such dark floors in a darkish space.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Bobby,

Your request seems simple enough, but it really takes more information than you have provided to give you a valuable answer.

Are you working around existing furnishings? What sort of space do you hope to create? Romantic, Cozy, Cheery, Funky, etc? What design style are you hoping to achieve? Contemporary, Traditional, etc? Are you working around existing furnishings? What style are they and what are the color tones in the wood or metal of those pieces? Are you in a warm climate or one that is cool most of the year? Do you have the appropriate lighting in the room? Do you have wood trim in the room: baseboards, crown molding, wainscoting? What color or stain is it? Are you interested in painting the ceiling? Are there any other elements in the room that would inspire you in a certain direction? Are there any patterned or textured fabrics or other finishes to consider?
